So, why did I choose “Smile Darling” as my blog name? I know this may be a question some of you have been thinking, so I am here today to share the tale of how it came to be.
My blog title was not a name I chose long ago. It was not something I actually had in mind. It was presented to me by fate.

Once I decided to take the plunge and make my blog a reality, the first thing I did was create a list of names. I always knew that I wanted my blog name to be a play-on-words with my last name. For those of you who don’t know, my last name is Fabiano. I started making a list of potential blog names that included: “Make This Moment Fab”, “FABulously Chic” “This FABulous Day”, etc. I did the research and made sure other blogs and accounts did not already exist (which some did).
For those of you who also know me, you know I think way too far ahead. Well, that is exactly what happened. I started to wonder what would happen if I were to get married (LOL) and my last name was to change? And I started to think, was my life really fabulous? I’m not a celebrity, and I do not live a luxurious lifestyle by any means. I started to wonder if those titles were even a good fit. I was actually going to go with “Make This Moment Fab”, until fate happened.
It was Thursday, March 1, 2018. I was up really late. I had just gotten back from California two days prior and I was still adjusting to East Coast time. I was on my laptop doing research for hosting and domain sites and was about to go to bed. It was 2:07AM to be exact, when I decided to get a glass of water. I laugh now, but getting that glass of water literally changed everything. I walked by my bar cart, the same bar cart I see every day. Above it, is a little banner I randomly purchased when I first moved in.
I stopped in my tracks, and I still don’t know why but my attention was being called to this banner. It was after 2AM, so maybe I was delirious. Maybe it was fate, or maybe there is a higher power that wanted to help me out. Either way, it hit me. I read the words out loud. I laughed, and said them out loud again. I liked it! It had a cute ring to it. And that was it folks, Smile Darling was born!

I say it was fate because I had that banner custom made off Etsy. The words just came to me 5 months ago and I thought it would be so cute over a little bar cart. They didn’t mean anything to me then. I may have saw them in a photo somewhere, I don’t know for sure. Little did I know, those two words would be the building blocks for my brand. They also mean a great deal to me. When I am letting life beat me up or I’m in a bad mood, I just remind myself to SMILE, DARLING.
